Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA):

Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) is a Punjab Government authority looking after the urban development of Ravi Riverfront area. It’s an initiative to build a new city on the riverfront of Ravi to restore Lahore’s glory and save natural resources of water.

RUDA’s ambition is to build an extensive riverside city spanning 46 kilometers from Ravi Siphon to Khud Pur. The project will encompass residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Additionally, RUDA will construct cultural establishments like museums, galleries, and performance venues to showcase Lahore’s cultural heritage in this city. They will also utilize advanced techniques to transform the socioeconomic and environmental aspects of the region. This will include innovations in energy generation and overcoming climate changes and economic activities. Moreover, it will help in R&D, healthcare, education, cultural enrichment, and reshaping the landscape of Lahore. Over the next 30 years, experts estimate that the plan will generate almost 2 million jobs and $20 billion in economic activity.
